Muhammad’s Fear Of Judgment Day

MUHAMMAD’S FEAR OF JUDGMENT DAY

Muslims beware! The next eclipse could be the Day of Judgment. This warning comes from none other than Muhammad himself. During the lifetime of Muhammad, the sun eclipsed over Arabia. Muhammad became extremely fearful during the eclipse and he prayed as he had never prayed before.

Sahih Bukhari, Volume 2, Book 18, Number 167:

Narrated Abu Musa: The sun eclipsed and the Prophet got up, being afraid that it might be the Hour (i.e. Day of Judgment). He went to the Mosque and offered the prayer with the longest Qiyam, bowing and prostration that I had ever seen him doing. Then he said, “These Signs which Allah sends do not occur because of the life or death of somebody, but Allah makes His worshipers afraid by them. So when you see anything thereof, proceed to remember Allah, invoke Him and ask for His forgiveness.”

Muhammad’s fear was visibly evident in his rush to get to the mosque as the solar eclipse was unfolding. Not only was his prayer unusually long but he also continued invoking Allah until the end of the eclipse. This personal fear concerning the solar eclipse as an omen of the impending Day of Judgment is further emphasized in the following Hadith:

It was narrated that Abu Musa said: There was an eclipse of the sun, and the Messenger of Allah, got up in a rush, fearing that it might be the Hour. He went to the masjid, where he stood and prayed standing, bowing and prostrating for the longest time that I ever saw him do in prayer. Then he said: ‘These Signs that Allah (SWT) sends do not occur for the death or birth of anyone, but Allah (SWT) sends them to strike fear into His slaves. If you see any of these things, then hasten to remember Him, call upon Him supplicate and ask for His forgiveness.’” (Sunan Nasai 1503, Book reference: Book 16, Hadith 45, English Translation: Volume 2, Book 16, Hadith 1504)

Furthermore, Muhammad became so fearful that he commanded his followers to manumit (free) their slaves during the eclipse in order to avoid the wrath of Allah.

Sahih Bukhari, Volume 2, Book 18, Number 163:

Narrated Asma bint Abu Bakar: No doubt the Prophet ordered people to manumit slaves during the solar eclipse.

The eclipse of the sun is a natural phenomenon caused by the movements of the heavenly bodies. It is common knowledge that an eclipse is nothing but an event that occurs at regular intervals when the moon passes between the earth and the sun. It is also a predictable phenomenon. From the beginning of creation till now, eclipses come and eclipses go and the world goes on. However, primitive pagans became terrified whenever they witness a solar eclipse. This fear stems from ignorance and their innate superstitious beliefs. Since there is nothing dangerous about eclipses, then why did the Prophet of Islam manifest a similar fear like the pagans? It is simply because he was also ignorant and superstitious like the primitive pagans.

A true prophet would have known that eclipses are only natural phenomena with no cause for fear. However, not only was Muhammad terrified but he was also gravely mistaken. He believed that it was the arrival of the Day of Judgment. He was off-mark by more than fourteen hundred years and counting. Like the superstitious pagans, he also viewed eclipses as a sign of divine anger. He warned his followers: “So when you see anything thereof, proceed to remember Allah, invoke Him and ask for His forgiveness.”

Why must Muslims seek forgiveness from Allah for the occurrence of an event that is as natural as the setting of the sun? More importantly, why was Muhammad terrified at the thought of the arrival of the Day of Judgment? If he is a true prophet of God, should he not welcome it? After all, is it not true that the Day of Judgment is a day when God rewards his faithful servants? Can Muslims really trust a prophet who fears the Day of Judgment? In total contrast, after revealing the prophetic events that would mark the last days, Jesus told his disciples to lift up their heads in confidence when they witness the fulfillment of these events:

Luke 21:28: “But when these things begin take place, raise yourselves erect and lift your heads up, because your deliverance is drawing near.”

True worshippers welcome the Day of Judgment with eagerness. To make matters worse for Muslims, Muhammad was also totally wrong about the causes for the occurrences of an eclipse.

Tabari I:236: “When the sun rises upon its chariot from one of those springs it is accompanied by 360 angels with outspread wings…When Allah wishes to test the sun and the moon, showing His servants a sign and thereby getting them to obey, the sun tumbles from the chariot and falls into the deep end of that ocean. When Allah wants to increase the significance of the sign and frighten His servants severely, all of the sun falls and nothing of it remains in the chariot. That is a total eclipse of the sun. It is a misfortune for the sun.”

Thanks to Muhammad, we now know what causes solar eclipses. Well, what is the reason for Muhammad’s fear of eclipses when they are in fact harmless? This fear of Muhammad stems from his complete ignorance of the true prophetic signs that would signify the coming of the Day of Judgment. Therefore, whenever he saw something strange, he immediately concluded that it must be a sign of the arrival of Judgment Day. Sometimes all it takes is some strong wind or even some dark clouds to terrify Muhammad. He considers them as a sign of the wrath of Allah.

Sahih Bukhari, Volume 2, Book 17, Number 144:

Narrated Anas: Whenever a strong wind blew, anxiety appeared on the face of the Prophet fearing that wind might be a sign of Allah’s wrath.

Sahih Muslim, Book 004, Number 1963:

‘Aisha, the wife of the Apostle of Allah (may peace be upon him), reported: I never saw Allah’s Messenger (may peace be upon him) laugh to such an extent that I could see his uvula – whereas he used to smile only – and when he saw dark clouds or wind, (the signs of fear) were depicted on his face. I said: Messenger of Allah, I find people being happy when they face the dark cloud in the hope that it would bring rain, but I find that when you see that (the cloud) there is an anxiety on your face. He said: ‘Aisha, I am afraid that there may be a calamity in it, for a people was afflicted with wind, when the people saw the calamity they said: “It is a cloud which would give us rain.” (Qur’an 46:24).

The account about the people who were afflicted by the wind is found in the following Qur’anic verse:

Surah 46:24: “Then, when they saw the (Penalty in the shape of) a cloud traversing the sky, coming to meet their valleys, they said, “This cloud will give us rain!” “Nay, it is the (Calamity) ye were asking to be hastened! – A wind wherein is a Grievous Penalty!” (Yusuf Ali)

The above Qur’anic verse refers to an incident that is believed to have happened before the time of Muhammad. The people of Ad disobeyed the prophet who was sent by Allah. As a result, Allah sent “a wind wherein is a Grievous Penalty” to punish them. Now, coming to Muhammad, we learned that “when he saw dark clouds or wind, the signs of fear were depicted on his face. He said: ‘Aisha, I am afraid that there may be a calamity in it.” Before we analyze the implications of the above Qur’anic verse, let us first compare the morbid fear of Muhammad with the calmness of Jesus in the face of a storm. Please read the following account regarding Jesus Christ:

Matthew 8:23-27: And when Jesus got aboard a boat, his disciples followed him. Now, look! A great agitation arose in the sea, so that the boat was being covered by the waves; he, however, was sleeping. And they came and woke him up, saying: “Lord, save us, we are about to perish!” But he said to them: “Why are you fainthearted, you with little faith?” Then, getting up, he rebuked the winds and the sea, and a great calm set in. So the men became amazed and said: “What sort of person is this, that even the winds and the sea obey him?”

Muslims must seriously consider why Muhammad became afraid “when he saw dark clouds or wind.” Is it not because he feared that the “Grievous Penalty” which befell the people of Ad might also happen to him? Why did he entertain such fearful thoughts that Allah might also execute him with a similar punishment? The Hadith clearly states that “fear” and “anxiety” was visible on his face. Why was Muhammad so uncertain about his salvation? If the Prophet of Islam himself is unsure of his standing with Allah, what guarantee do ordinary Muslims have regarding their salvation in Islam? Consider now the following Qur’anic verse. Allah testified:

Surah 39:30:You Muhammad are destined to die and so are they. (Al-Muntakhab)

Contrast the above destination of the Muslims with the hope that Jesus Christ assured his true followers:

John 14:19: “Because I live, you will live also.”

Muslims must reflect deeply on this contrast between Muhammad and Jesus if they truly value their eternal salvation. Eclipses, Winds and Dark Clouds are not the only events that frighten Muhammad. Sometimes he frightens himself. He let his imaginations run riot. The eclipse over Arabia was not the only time when Muhammad got terrified and mistook it for the Last Hour. Once he came running in a state of fear to his wife. He warned her about an imminent danger coming soon upon the entire world of mankind because of the appearance of a hole in the wall.

Sahih Bukhari, Volume 4, Book 56, Number 797:

Narrated Zainab bint Jahsh: That the Prophet came to her in a state of fear saying, “None has the right to be worshiped but Allah! Woe to the Arabs because of evil that has come near. Today a hole has been made in the wall of Gog and Magog as large as this.” Pointing with two of his fingers making a circle. Zainab said, “I said, ‘O Allah’s Apostle! Shall we be destroyed though amongst us there are pious people?’ ‘He said, ‘Yes, if evil increases.’

Islam teaches that Alexander the Great, with the help of Allah, built a massive iron barrier between two mountains to separate mankind from the mischievous people of Gog and Magog. However, it is also taught in Islam that Allah will remove this barrier before the end of the world. The fact that Muhammad became extremely terrified proves that he really believed that the end must be imminent. Once again Muhammad was mistaken. It is important for Muslims to note that since the end did not come as Muhammad expected, it proves that the sudden appearance of a hole in the wall of Gog and Magog must be a product of his imagination.

Since Muhammad associated the occurrences of eclipses with the Day of Judgment, does he really know when the Day of Judgment will come? According to Islamic sources, he certainly does! Muslims must be extremely proud to have a Prophet who knows exactly which generation in the history of mankind will witness the coming of the Day of Judgment. Lo and behold! This secret is revealed by the greatest Prophet of Allah in the following Hadith.

Sahih Muslim, Book 41, Hadith Number 7052:

Anas b. Malik reported that a person asked Allah’s Apostle: When would the Last Hour come? Thereupon Allah’s Messenger (way peace be upon him) kept quiet for a while. Then looked at a young boy in his presence belonging to the tribe of Azd Shanu’a and he said: If this boy lives he would not grow very old till the Last Hour would come to you. Anas said that this young boy was of our age during those days.

Thanks to Muhammad, we can now know when the Day of Judgment will come. All that we need to do is to keep an eye on the boy belonging to the tribe of Azd Shanu’a. This is important because Muhammad prophesied that before this boy grows old, the end will come. Is this not an exciting prophecy? However, the problem with this prophecy of Muhammad is that the boy died centuries ago. And as for the Day of Judgment, it is still pending. In fact, Islamic sources reveal that Muhammad predicted various dates and times for the arrival of Judgment Day. Not one came true! Would it not be wise for Muslims to listen to Jesus? With reference to the timing of the Great Day of Armageddon, Jesus stated:

Matthew 24:36: “Concerning that day and hour nobody knows, neither the angels of the heavens nor the Son, but only the Father.”

If only Muhammad had listened to Jesus Christ, he would not have repeatedly made a fool of himself. Islam stands and falls on the person of Muhammad and he certainly falls short of the divine expectations of a true prophet. He made numerous errors both in his judgments and in his teachings. As we have seen, the world ended many times during the time of Muhammad. And we are not the ones exposing this truth about Muhammad. We learned about these failures of Muhammad from Islamic sources which were written by devout Muslims who are defenders of the Islamic faith. Can Muhammad really be a prophet of the true God? Can Muslims trust this man with their eternal salvation? The answer is obvious! Leaving Islam is not an option for Muslims if they really value their salvation.

We hope the evidences provided in this article will encourage sincere Muslims to leave the cult of Islam which is built on lies and deceptions. But more than that, we hope it will move Muslims to search for the true God:

Isaiah 55:6: Search for Jehovah while he may be found. Call to him while he is near.

MUHAMMAD’S MORBID FEAR OF NATURAL PHENOMENON

MUHAMMAD’S MORBID FEAR OF NATURAL PHENOMENON

An eclipse of the sun is a normal phenomenon caused by the natural movement of the heavenly bodies. It is a predictable and expected occurrence. However, superstitious pagans were terrified whenever the sun or moon eclipsed. They viewed it as a bad omen portending the occurrence of something evil. Well, how did Muhammad react during the occurrences of the eclipse of the sun?

A true prophet would know the truth about such things. He would know that a solar eclipse is just natural phenomenon. It should not instill any sort of fear or concern for one claiming to be a prophet of God. However, not only was Muhammad terrified but he was also strongly mistaken. He thought that it was the arrival of the “Day of Judgment.” He was off-mark by more than fourteen hundred years and counting. Like the superstitious pagans, he likewise viewed it as a sign of divine anger. He told his followers, “So when you see anything thereof, proceed to remember Allah, invoke Him and ask for His forgiveness.”

Since an eclipse is nothing but an ordinary phenomenon that occurs at regular intervals when the moon comes between the sun and the earth, why did Muhammad pray fearfully when it does not pose any danger? Why did he instruct his followers to seek forgiveness for the occurrence of something that by comparison is as natural as the setting of the sun? Muslims should be deeply concerned as to why their Prophet became so terrified at the arrival of the “Day of Judgment.” If he is truly a prophet of God should not he welcome it? After all, is it not true that the “Day of Judgment” is a day when Allah rewards his faithful servants? Can Muslims really trust a prophet who fears for his life at the thought of the arrival of the “Day of Judgment”?

In total contrast, after giving the signs that would signify the approach of the end times, Jesus told his disciples to lift up their heads in joyful expectation of their deliverance:

Luke 21:28: “But when these things begin take place, raise yourselves erect and lift your heads up, because your deliverance is drawing near.”

True worshippers welcome the “Day of Judgment” with eagerness. Not only Muhammad feared the eclipse of the sun, but he was totally wrong as to what causes this phenomenon.

Tabari I:236: “When the sun rises upon its chariot from one of those springs it is accompanied by 360 angels with outspread wings…. When Allah wishes to test the sun and the moon, showing His servants a sign and thereby getting them to obey, the sun tumbles from the chariot and falls into the deep end of that ocean. When Allah wants to increase the significance of the sign and frighten His servants severely, all of the sun falls and nothing of it remains in the chariot. That is a total eclipse of the sun. It is a misfortune for the sun.”

Total absurdity!

MUHAMMAD’S FEAR OF DARK CLOUDS AND WIND

Sahih Muslim, Book 004, Number 1963:

‘Aisha, the wife of the Apostle of Allah (may peace be upon him), reported: I never saw Allah’s Messenger (may peace be upon him) laugh to such an extent that I could see his uvula – whereas he used to smile only – and when he saw dark clouds or wind, (the signs of fear) were depicted on his face. I said: Messenger of Allah, I find people being happy when they face the dark cloud in the hope that it would bring rain, but I find that when you see that (the cloud) there is an anxiety on your face. He said: ‘Aisha, I am afraid that there may be a calamity in it, for a people was afflicted with wind, when the people saw the calamity they said: “It is a cloud which would give us rain” (Qur’an 46:24).

The account regarding the people who were afflicted by the wind is found in Surah 46:24:

Then, when they saw the (Penalty in the shape of) a cloud traversing the sky, coming to meet their valleys, they said, “This cloud will give us rain!” “Nay, it is the (Calamity) ye were asking to be hastened! – A wind wherein is a Grievous Penalty!” (Yusuf Ali)

The above Qur’anic verse refers to an incident that is believed to have happened long before the time of Muhammad. The people of Ad were supposed to have disobeyed the prophet sent by Allah. As a result, Allah sent “a wind wherein is a Grievous Penalty” to punish them. Now, coming to Muhammad, we are told that “when Muhammad saw dark clouds or wind, the signs of fear were depicted on his face. He said: ‘Aisha, I am afraid that there may be a calamity in it.”

Muslims must seriously consider why their Prophet was afraid. Is it not because he feared that the calamity which fell upon the people of Ad might also happen to him? Why did he entertain such fearful thoughts that Allah might also execute him with a similar punishment? The Hadith states that “fear” and “anxiety” were clearly visible on his face. If the Prophet of Islam himself is unsure of his standing with Allah, what guarantee do ordinary Muslims have regarding their salvation in Islam? Additionally, the Qur’an claims that King Solomon had control over the wind (Surah 21:81), yet we are told that Allah’s greatest and final Prophet had a morbid fear of it.

Now, please read the following account regarding Jesus Christ:

Matthew 8:23-27: And when Jesus got aboard a boat, his disciples followed him. Now, look! A great agitation arose in the sea, so that the boat was being covered by the waves; he, however, was sleeping. And they came and woke him up, saying: “Lord, save us, we are about to perish!” But he said to them: “Why are you fainthearted, you with little faith?” Then, getting up, he rebuked the winds and the sea, and a great calm set in. So the men became amazed and said: “What sort of person is this, that even the winds and the sea obey him?”

As for Muhammad, he displayed an unnatural fear of ordinary natural occurrences. He feared both the forces of nature and the judgments of Allah. Like the pagans, Muhammad was also steeped in superstitious beliefs.

Sahih Bukhari, Volume 7, Book 72, Hadith Number 747:

Narrated By Abu Huraira: Allah’s Apostle said, “If you want to put on your shoes, put on the right shoe first; and if you want to take them off, take the left one first. Let the right shoe be the first to be put on and the last to be taken off.”

Why? What divine difference would this make?

Sahih Bukhari, Volume 1, Book 4, Number 162:

Narrated Abu Huraira: The Prophet said, “Whoever performs ablution should clean his nose with water by putting the water in it and then blowing it out, and whoever cleans his private parts with stones should do it with odd number of stones.”

Why must it be odd number of stones? Did Muhammad believe in numerology just like the pagans? Numerology is the science of the occult. And it is associated with astrology and divination. Although Muslims pride themselves that Islam is a mature Abrahamic religion that has no place for pagan superstition, the truth is that their Prophet was an extremely superstitious man. Fear of the unknown and superstition influenced many of his teachings. Muhammad held on to the beliefs of the pre-Islamic pagans.

Islam stands and falls on the character of this man. And he certainly falls short of the divine requirements expected of a true prophet. Can such a man really be a prophet of the true God? Can Muslims trust this man with their eternal salvation? We do not think so.
